Dispute resolution


  • Representing holders of Russian bank’s shares sold out at an auction conducted in the bankruptcy case of a large insolvent bank, including before the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation

  • Representing a top Greek bank in a number of high-profile disputes before Russian courts with respect to the foreclosure over land plots as well as in subsequent bankruptcy proceedings of Russian subsidiaries of a Greek development conglomerate following a EUR40 million default under Greek law governed facility agreement

  • Representing a nationalized Irish bank in Russian bankruptcy proceedings, corporate disputes, real estate disputes and parallel litigations and arbitrations in Ukraine, Ireland, Panama and Belize

  • Representing a Dutch bank in connection with a bankruptcy case involving its debtor and in a parallel dispute on invalidation of loan agreements tried by a court of general jurisdiction, including before the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation

  • Representing a major Russian businessman in a dispute over asset freezing in connection with a subsidiary liability action against the former management of a major Russian bank

  • Representing a prominent Russian businessman as the subject of a financial regulation authority investigation by a Baltic country associated with the collapse and nationalisation of a major local bank.


Corporate


  • Advising confidential client on its proposed acquisition of an international payment system

  • Advising Finstar on the acquisition of a stake in a European pay-day loan business

  • Advising Finstar on the disposal of Rive Gauche

  • Advising a Russian investment company on the sale of strategic stake to a leading international bank and on a related secured financing

  • Advising a European company on the acquisition of a European bank

  • Advising ING on the disposal of its Russian pension funds business to Aviva

  • Representing a US-based investor in connection with the formation of a joint venture to operate a pay-day loan business in Russia and subsequently representing the existing shareholders of the joint venture in connection with the sale of a 33% stake to a new strategic investor (investing both through debt and equity)

  • Advising Finstar on its disposal of Baltic Trust Bank (Latvia) to GE

  • Advising Mosnarbank in connection with its merger with Eurofinancebank
