Dispute resolution


  • Representing a town-forming industrial enterprise in a dispute arising out of a commission agency contract, complicated by the laws of three foreign jurisdictions and applicable sanctions

  • Representing major Russian pipe producer in court proceedings in connection with recognition and enforcement of a decision of the Moscow Arbitrazh Court in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

  • Representing a major Russian contractor in a dispute in Vietnam arising out of an EPC contract in arbitration under the SIAC Rules

  • Representing a Russian manufacturer in a dispute arising out of a contract to supply equipment to Cuba in arbitration under the ICC Rules

  • Representing a large construction-engineering enterprise in an environmental dispute, including before the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, as a consequence of ship dumping in the Caspian Sea

  • Representing a Russian industrial group in relation to an unfair prejudice and competition claim involving a Western mining giant

  • Representing claimants in LCIA arbitration proceedings for the recovery of a multimillion-dollar debt under a loan agreement


Corporate


  • Advising the purchaser on a number of issues in connection with the acquisition of shares in, and the receivables from, the EUROCEMENT Group, as well as in connection with various matters of financing of transaction worth over $2 billion

  • Financing new terminals in Sheremetyevo Airport, including construction agreements

  • Advising the winning bidder, Impregilo, Todini, Salini, IL&FS, on the US$1.1 billion Almaty-Khorgos toll road in Kazakhstan

  • Advising a consortium created to implement the Western High-Speed Diameter PPP road project in St Petersburg

  • Representing the interests of the Russian Federation (FGU ‘Roads of Russia’) in preparing and implementing the M-1 concession project, including legal opinion on the infrastructure bonds offering

  • Representing the contractor in connection with the multibillion-dollar project for construction of new lines of the Moscow metro, preparing a bundle of EPC contracts with the city and the risks matrix

  • Representing AFK Sistema and Bashneft in connection with the establishment of a rail joint venture

  • Advising the independent directors of IG Seismic Services in connection with the offer of one of its shareholders and related disclosure

  • Advising Ford Motor Company on the tax aspects of one of the landmark deals of 2008 involving Ford’s US$2.3 billion disposal of Jaguar and Land Rover to Tata Motor

  • Advising in connection with the multimillion greenfield investment project of Volkswagen AG in Kaluga Region, representing the investor in negotiations with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation regarding tax and customs concessions

  • Advising Geotech on private placement of shares to a consortium of investors led by JP Morgan

  • Providing legal support for the PPP project of developing a 460 km railway Kyzyl-Kuragino to Russia’s largest coal deposits in East Siberia (project value:)

  • Advising on the US$7 billion PPP project for developing a 375 km railway line to mineral deposits in the Chita region, Siberia, including advising a JV with Asian investors on implementing the project

  • Advising Power Machines on the secondary public offering of its shares

  • Advising on the preparation of concessions for all sections of the M-4 Don federal toll road

  • Representing the interests of a winning bidder, an international consortium led by Vinci, with respect to the concession tender on the construction and development of the first section of a toll highway, Moscow–St Petersburg (15-58 km)

  • Providing legal support to the Russian government in preparing and implementing the Northern Bypass Odintsovo (M-1) toll road concession project

  • Representing the client in preparing the concession tender for the development of the second part of the 58-684 km toll highway, Moscow–St Petersburg

  • Representing the interests of an international consortium involved in the concession tender for the Orlovsky tunnel PPP project in St Petersburg
