GAR Connect: Moscow Workshop, a Conference Held with RGP’s Support, Gathers Over 100 Participants
On 21 April, GAR Connect: Moscow Workshop ‑ one of the most expected arbitration events of the beginning of 2021 took place with the support of Rybalkin, Gortsunyan and Partners. The conference was held online and gathered over 100 professionals of different backgrounds from across the world. The event generated deep interest not only among in-house lawyers and advisors, but also among representatives of the State, business and academic community.

Dmitry Dyakin, RGP’s partner and co-head of dispute resolution practice, co-chaired the conference and once again took an active part in developing the agenda of the event, at which recognised international arbitration experts from various jurisdictions spoke. The conference focused on the most relevant issues the parties come across when resolving arbitration disputes.

The key speaker ‑ Jackie van Haersolte-van Hof, LCIA’s Director General ‑ speculated on arbitrator independence and impartiality in an increasingly regulated environment.

Co-chair of the conference Steven Finizio, a partner with WilmerHale, moderated a case study session about damages, which raised great interest among the audience. Using a hypothetical case study, the panellists debated the best way to develop and present the damages part of a case.

Dmitry Dyakin moderated the expert session on the most hot topic of the nowadays – the sanctions and their impact on the arbitration process.

The record will be available at the GAR website soon.
