On February 15, 2024, HSE University’s Faculty of Law hosted a conference on legal technology titled “HSE. Legal Tech”, where speakers and participants discussed the potential uses of cutting-edge technology in the legal sector and business.

Suren Gortsunyan, Founding Partner and Head of Corporate Practice at Rybalkin, Gortsunyan, Dyakin and Partners (RGD), spoke at the “Legal Tech and Business” session, which focused on current trends in process automation, including generative AI, and the economic benefits of technology adoption for businesses.

In his talk, Suren spoke about RGD’s approach to digitalisation. He mentioned that the law firm chose to develop an in-house solution instead of using external ones during its early stages of establishment. The system’s capabilities include conflict of interest checks, time tracking, and digital client files. An important advantage of internally built software is the ability to refine and adapt it to the needs of a growing business.

“I am pleased to see that legal tech is actively developing in our country,” said Suren Gortsunyan. “Thanks to our system, our partners always have access to project information. Almost all processes are automated, and there is no need to send paper reports. Many of our new hires, who come from international firms, find our system more convenient and intuitive.”
