Alexander Geda, Counsel and Head of Finance Practice, and Alexander Borgoyakov, Counsel at Finance Practice of Rybalkin, Gortsunyan, Dyakin and Partners (RGD), recently participated as experts in a workshop focused on the international trade of hydrocarbons. The workshop, which took place on November 10, was attended by students pursuing a Master's program in International, Private, and Public Law at MGIMO University. 

During the workshop, the participants discussed the key features of contracts for the international purchase and sale of oil, petroleum products, and natural gas. They also highlighted the rights and obligations of parties to such transactions and engaged in a simulation of arbitration proceedings based on the anonymized plot of the newest case of the ICAC at the RF CCI.

The invited experts shared their unique experience in legal support of energy transactions. Alexander Geda and Alexander Borgoyakov outlined the key features of exports of oil and petroleum products and elaborated on the structure of prepaid oil purchase and sale transaction involving bank financing.

The students expressed gratitude for this valuable opportunity to study the legal nuances of international hydrocarbon trade using real-life cases.
