Dmitry Dyakin, Partner and Co-Head of the Dispute Resolution Practice at Rybalkin, Gortsunyan, Dyakin & Partners (RGD), Member of the Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC) Court of Arbitration, and Yan Kalish, Counsel at the RGD Dispute Resolution Practice and Council Member at Young SIAC (YSIAC), took part in Singapore Convention Week 2023.

Singapore Convention Week (SCW) is a highly regarded annual professional event in Southeast Asia focused on dispute resolution through arbitration, mediation, and litigation. Every year, this event brings together prominent lawyers, representatives from the public sector, and business professionals from around the world. The sessions hosted by leading organizations during the Singapore Convention Week have a direct impact on the future development of the legal field.

The SCW program traditionally covers a wide range of topics, but the most relevant issues that fell within our colleagues’ expertise were discussed during the sessions hosted by SIAC, the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Academy, and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

RGD representatives participate in these sessions to stay up-to-date on the current events in the field, engage in discussions on the latest developments in the legal community, address current issues in arbitration and mediation, and explore ways to adapt legal tools to the changing landscape of traditional sectors of the economy.

A special focus during the discussions was placed on the growing role of SIAC, which is rightfully becoming one of the world's leading arbitration centers that directly affects the future of the legal field. The 7th Edition of SIAC rules is currently underway, and given the center’s solid reputation, it is not surprising that leading arbitration practitioners from all over the world are actively contributing to its development.
