Dmitry Kaysin, Partner with RGD Dispute Resolution practice, participated in IX M.G. Rosenberg International commercial arbitration moot competition (the Competition) as a member of the jury.

The Competition is dedicated to the international sales of goods and is held in three languages: Russian, English and French (a new section). Dmitry was invited by Professor N.G. Vilkova, who drew up the moot case, to judge the semifinal round of the English section between the teams of RANEPA and MGIMO law schools.

Traditionally, the members of the jury panel (arbitrators) of the Competition are experts in international commercial arbitration: arbitrators the International Commercial Arbitration Court (ICAC), arbitrators of Russian and foreign arbitration centers, partners and lawyers of leading domestic and international law firms. They evaluate the memoranda prepared by the teams as well as team pleadings in oral hearings and provide their feedback to the participants.

The Competition is supported by the National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce in Russia (ICC Russia), as well as by the Competition partners. The Competition is considered a good start for a career in international arbitration and an excellent opportunity for participants to try out their future profession. Students within the framework of a model arbitration can get the necessary skills and gain practical experience of pleading in international arbitration.

Rosenberg M.G. International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition is a competition in which teams representing Russian and foreign universities participate. The Competition is organized by the Russian Foreign Trade Academy of the Ministry of Economic Development (RFTA) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI). The Rosenberg Arbitration Moot was launched in 2014 and was the first international commercial arbitration moot competition in the Russian Federation.
