The business breakfast titled “Disputes in M&A: International Trends and Their Significance for the Russian Market” was held on 29 March. The event was organised by ICC Russia with the support of Rybalkin, Gortsunyan, Dyakin and Partners law firm (RGD). The event was chaired by Anthony Walker, RGD Partner, Head of English Law Practice.

The event gathered representatives of major Russian businesses. They discussed the current global trends in international M&A disputes and the specifics of this market in Russia.

“It is noticeable that the M&A disputes market in Russia differs in many significant respects from other global regions. ESG, AI, W&I insurance play almost no role. Market participants are looking to M&A deals that consolidate and expand regional presence and market share. One key issue is where to take M&A disputes – which arbitral institutions and seats offer (now and in the foreseeable future) the ability for Russian parties to seek justice freely, without bias, restriction or impediment,” Anthony Walker commented.
