Dmitry Kaysin, Partner at the Dispute Resolution Practice of Rybalkin, Gortsunyan, Dyakin & Partners law firm (RGD), conducted a seminar on the fundamentals of international arbitration for lawyers from leading O&G, banking, retail, and construction companies of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

RGD's trainings aim to enhance expertise of legal practitioners in Uzbekistan and establish high standards for legal representation. This seminar was the first in a series of events planned by the firm.

Dmitry discussed the cases in which parties resort to dispute resolution, revealing the differences in the mechanics of using tools and international rules to resolve arbitration disputes. In addition to addressing the primary issues related to arbitration proceedings, Dmitry emphasized the significance of selecting the right members of the arbitral tribunal and the approaches to arbitrator selection. He also stressed the importance of the place and format of hearings, which have undergone significant changes in recent years towards more flexible communication due to the increasing difficulty of organizing face-to-face meetings.
