Law firm Rybalkin, Gortsunyan and Partners (RGP) launches an arbitration practice to be led by Dmitry Dyakin, a partner. Dmitry Kaysin will also join RGP as a counsel in the arbitration practice.
Mr Dyakin
Mr Dyakin is a recognized international arbitration expert with over 20 years of experience representing clients in complex disputes. Dmitry has vast experience representing the government and major state corporations, Russian and foreign companies operating in various industries, including oil and gas, banking, construction etc. Dmitry has handled numerous arbitrations under the arbitration rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the The Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the International Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and the rules of the ICAC of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Prior to joining RGP, Dmitry Dyakin was a partner and co-head of the litigation and arbitration practice at a leading Russian law firm.
Dmitry has been continually recognised by leading international legal directories including Chambers and Partners, Legal 500. For example, the latter cites one of Dmitry’s clients: “Unstoppable when it comes to protecting client interests in courts.” Dmitry Dyakin is recommended by Global Arbitration Review as a leading arbitration expert. Mr Dyakin is admitted to the Moscow Bar Association and is a member of its International Relationships Committee. Dmitry leads the ICC Arbitration Commission in Russia and the Investment Arbitration Working Group of the Russian Arbitration Association, is a member of the Russia/Eurasia Committee of the American Bar Association (ABA), the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Users Council of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).
In 2017 Dmitry was appointed as the Chairman of the Presidium of the Arbitration Centre at the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE); and in 2018 was elected to the RUIE Management Board.
Dmitry holds an Honours Degree in Law from the Moscow State Social University, an M.P.L. degree from the Russian School of Private Law, an LL.M. degree from the New York University School of Law (USA) and the Executive MBA degree from the London Business School and the Columbia Business School.
Mr Kaysin
Mr Kaysin focuses on cross-border commercial disputes and represents clients in litigation and arbitration proceedings both in Russia and abroad. He also has significant experience in representing clients in disputes with the involvement of states. Dmitry has extensive experience of arbitrating under UNCITRAL, LCIA, SCC, Swiss Chambers, ICAC (MKAS) and WIPO Arbitration rules. Dmitry has outstanding expertise in disputes involving public-law entities and investment disputes.
Prior to joining RGP Dmitry was a counsel at a major Russian law firm and Deputy Director for Legal Affairs at Russian Standard Corporation where he was in charge of international commercial litigation and arbitration as well as resolution of commercial, IP and labor disputes.
Dmitry graduated from the Moscow State Academy of Law cum laude and holds an LL.M. degree from NYU School of Law in International Business Transactions, Litigation & Arbitration as well as PhD of the Moscow State Academy of Law. Dmitry has been admitted to the Bar Association of Moscow Region since 2007. Dmitry is a member of the Appointment Committee of ICC Russia.
