Tatyana Polevshchikova, Senior Associate at the Dispute Resolution Practice of Rybalkin, Gortsunyan, Dyakin and Partners law firm (RGD), participated in the ASEAN Law Association Conference, which was held on October 20, 2023 in Kuala Lumpur.

The conference was timed to coincide with the ASEAN Law Association General Assembly meeting, which takes place every three years.

Tatiana’s presentation was focused on the use of artificial intelligence in arbitration. During the session "Artificial Intelligence – We Innovate and Survive", she shared her thoughts on the potential application of artificial intelligence at various stages of dispute resolution by parties’ representatives, arbitrators, and other participants. Tatiana also suggested reviewing and discussing the rules developed by the Silicon Valley Arbitration & Mediation Center (SVAMC) as an example of a document establishing guidelines and limitations for using AI in arbitration.

The session participants and the audience expressed their interest in developing unified rules to regulate artificial intelligence in arbitration across ASEAN countries.
