The main objective of the Chairs is promoting arbitration in Russia and abroad.

Yan Kalish represents clients before arbitral tribunals acting under the rules of various institutions, including ICC, SCC, LCIA, and SCAI. He also advises clients on complex cross-border litigations involving proceedings before the courts of the United States, Norway, British Virgin Islands, Cyprus, and Russia. Yan’s experience covers matters governed i.a. by New York, Delaware, English, Swedish, Norwegian, German, BVI, Cypriot, Swiss, Bahamian, Panamanian, and Russian law.

Yan Kalish commented on his appointment: “I am very honored and excited to join the new RAA 40 Co-Chairs. The Co-Chairs have been making an invaluable contribution to developing and promoting arbitration in Russia and CIS, touching upon the most topical and interesting issues. This is a great platform for cooperation and development of the international arbitration community in Russia. We already have a lot of plans and hope to see all those who are interested in arbitration at the future RAA40 events.”

The RAA40 is a group for young arbitration practitioners and academics. The key purpose of RAA40 is to promote arbitration among young lawyers and to create more opportunities for professional development of its membership. RAA40 is the continuator of the Moscow Arbitration Forum 40 (MAF40), which was established in 2008 by Francesca Albert, Anton Asoskov, and Richard Chlup.
