The organization recently announced the appointment of new Arbitrator Intelligence Ambassadors for the 2020-2021 term. The new Ambassadors hail from more than 40 jurisdictions worldwide and are an international group of seasoned arbitration experts and legal tech practitioners, arbitrators, barristers, in-house counsel, arbitration lecturers, counsel at arbitral institutions and LLM/PhD candidates. One of the newly selected Ambassadors from Russia is RGP’s counsel Yan Kalish.
Yan represents clients before arbitral tribunals acting under the rules of various institutions, including ICC, SCC, LCIA and SCAI. He also advises clients on complex cross-border litigations involving proceedings before the courts of the United States, Norway, British Virgin Islands, Cyprus, Singapore and Russia. Yan’s experience covers matters i.a. governed by New York, Delaware, English, Swedish, Norwegian, Singapore, Italian, German, BVI, Cypriot, Swiss, Bahamian, Panamanian and Russian law.
Yan Kalish takes active part in the activities of international arbitration community. He is a Co-Chair of The Arbitration Association 40 (RAA40) and Thought Leaders 4 FIRE CEE-CIS Committee, member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and ICC Russia Commission on International Arbitration, Executive Secretary of the Commission for development of Arbitration and alternative settlement mechanisms of the Moscow regional department of the Association of lawyers of Russia. Yan also has experience sitting as an arbitrator. He is the author of multiple publications and is frequently invited to act as expert and speaker at key events of the professional legal community in Russia and abroad.
