Yan Kalish, a counsel at RGD Dispute Resolution practice, started teaching arbitration at the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation. The Institute has recently launched the Master Programme “The trial lawyer” and invited Yan to teach the subject “The trends in the development of arbitration in the Russian Federation”.

Yan has been involved in arbitration for 10 years. As a student himself, he did the thesis on domestic and international arbitration. Since that he did many research and practical work on this issue and gained certain knowledge and experience to share with students. The programme is designed in such a way that Yan focuses more on practical questions of arbitration with explanation of the key elements of arbitration and how and why they work.  

Yan comments on the occasion: “I always wanted to combine practice with teaching. My task is to transfer students everything I know. I am sure if you do it properly and efficiently, you’ll see really great results. I hope that my lectures and workshops inspire some students to get interested in arbitration and continue their professional development in this field”.
