• Representing a major Russian metallurgical plant in the arbitration proceedings under the rules of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce before (SCC) against a Chinese contractor in a dispute valued at US$200 million, as well as in a dispute on recognition and enforcement of arbitral award

• Representing a leading Turkish development and construction company on numerous arbitrations with amount of each exceeding US$ several hundred million before the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce  (ICC) and the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (ICAC) emerging from construction projects in Russia and CIS

• Representing major Russian businessmen and their companies in several US$ multibillion arbitrations before the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and court proceedings in Cyprus arising from construction of a landmark hotel complex in Moscow

LITIGATION

• Representing a private client in a high-profile criminal investigations in an EU member state, in the course of which unprecedented in scale and media coverage investigative actions were successfully challenged and declared unlawful

• Representing a private client in administrative proceedings in an EU member state against the claims of the agency responsible for the enforcement of sanctions, which included challenging a series of large-scale and high-profile searches aimed at seizure of assets blocked subject to sanctions

• Representing a private client in the mutual agreement procedure under a Double Taxation Treaty between the Russian Federation and an EU member state in connection with tax claims totaling more than half a billion euros

• Representing Russia’s largest private heating and electricity generation company in Russian court proceedings to hold the former Russian minister M.A. Abyzov subsidiarily liable for the debts of a major engineering company in parallel with acting in several successful ancillary proceedings in a number of jurisdictions

• Defending a prominent Russian businessman and a group of related foreign companies in two disputes regarding the imposition of anti-suit injunction orders to cease ongoing litigations in a number of jurisdictions and to restrict new claims globally before the state courts of Caribbean of all levels resulting in a final dismissal of both applications for anti-suit injunctions by the Privy Council

• Advising a major private generating company in relation to investigations and legal proceedings in Cyprus and Singapore to retrieve evidence relevant to Russia-based proceedings, including the proceedings to issue a Norwich Pharmacal Order in respect of dozens of respondents

• Representing a major industrial group in a litigation process in Cyprus to recover $ multimillion damages

• Representing a major Russian businessman in a dispute over asset freezing in connection with a subsidiary liability action against the former management of a major Russian bank

• Representing a group of oilfield-services companies in Russian arbitrazh courts in proceedings for obtaining a freezing injunction in aid of proceedings pending before the state courts of the Republic of Cyprus

• Representing a major Greek bank in a number of high-profile disputes before Russian courts in Moscow and Moscow Region involving foreclosure over secured assets, as well as in subsequent bankruptcy proceedings of Russian subsidiaries of a Greek development conglomerate following a EUR 40 million default under Greek law-governed facility agreements

• Representing a major German bank in a number of disputes in Russia (Rostov, Stavropol and Krasnodar) against one of the largest agricultural companies in the CIS and its subsidiaries following a US$300 million default under English law-governed facility agreements

• Representing German development conglomerate in several Russian disputes against a notorious businessman in St.-Petersburg emerging from pushing a Russian subsidiary into insolvency by concluding fake loan agreement and bringing the mother-companies to secondary liability for its debts

• Representing Russian subsidiaries of International food and beverages company in a dispute for the recovery of damages exceeding US$30 million caused by a warehouse collapse

• Representing a U.S. government agency in bankruptcy proceedings initiated against top Russian banks - International Industrial Bank (Mezhprombank) and AMT Bank (formerly BTA Bank), as well as advising on court proceedings within the ongoing bankruptcy cases

Reputation Recovery

• Providing comprehensive advice and legal representation to a private client in matters related to the protection of honor, dignity, and business reputation and general PR matters in a number of jurisdictions. Providing strategic guidance, coordinating foreign advocates/consultants outside of Russia (including the UK, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, France, Croatia, and etc.), and completing legal preparation for disputes concerning the protection of the client’s honor, dignity, and business reputation in foreign jurisdictions (with positive outcomes, including injunctions against foreign media in the client’s favor; signed cease-and-desist declarations, etc.). Developing comprehensive PR strategy, which included legal advice to the client and the client’s PR department, handling media relations, and preparing requests to publish responses and rebuttals

• Providing legal support to the PR department of a major Russian investment holding company, handling relations with the media, filing requests to publish responses and rebuttals, managing claims, and representing the company in legal proceedings, including those in foreign jurisdictions

• Representing a major Russian businessman in a dispute regarding removal of publications defaming his honour, dignity and business reputation before Latvian courts, as well as in connection with enforcement of the obtained interim measures in the form of blocking unwanted articles

• Advising a major Russian businessman (listed in Forbes Russia) and related companies regarding dissemination of defamatory publications in the media and on the Internet

• Representing a world-renowned British architect in connection with defamatory publications in Russian media regarding construction of an office centre in Moscow
