Alexandra Khizunova
Alexandra Khizunova is a senior associate at RGD’s Dispute Resolution and Sanctions practices. Alexandra is experienced in coordinating complex judicial proceedings including those with cross-border component, as well as in advising on issues connected with proceedings to recognize and enforce foreign judgments and arbitral awards in the Russian Federation.
Background
Prior to joining RGD team, Alexandra was a senior associate in a reputable Russian dispute resolution law firm. Alexandra focused on advising (including on international arbitration, international trade law and sanctions matters) Russian and foreign clients, representing them in Russian courts, as well as on preparing opinions explaining Russian law to foreign courts and tribunals in the course arbitrations and coordination foreign judicial proceedings.
Alexandra also worked at workout department of the large Russian bank. She participated in development of various strategies of enforcement in Russia and foreign jurisdictions and coordinated relevant processes subsequently, as well as provided legal support in the course of transactions concluded to settle the debt.
Alexandra is an author of a number of articles and publications.

Representing a Spanish industrial company in proceedings on recognition and enforcement of a foreign arbitral award (Sweden) in Russian commercial courts.
Representing an Austrian construction (engineering) company in proceedings on issuance of the writ of execution for enforcement of the arbitral awards (issued in a dispute considered under ICAC at the RF CCI rules) in Russian commercial courts against a debtor avoiding the voluntary execution.
Participation in the project group representing Russian energy service company in the dispute against Russian bank on challenging the currency options in Russian commercial courts (amount of claims — 1 bln USD).
Advising a Russian company in the course of negotiations with a foreign contractor in order to overcome difficulties to launch a unique natural gas liquefaction unit by the beginning of heating season in Russia.

Advising a major Kazakh energy sector company on the use of the maritime areas to import cargo into Russia and on the use of the Russian inland waterways system to carry the cargo to other EAEU member-state including an analysis of the associated risks in connection with economic sanctions.
Advising a major US manufacturer of medical equipment on issues emerged in the context of sanctions in connection with the supply of the equipment to Russia.
Advising a Russian automotive company in the course of structuring and concluding a transaction, including on drafting a sanctions clause.
