Gleb Gadalov

Gleb Gadalov is an associate in RGD’s Dispute Resolution Practice. Gleb speclialises in international arbitration and litigation, and English law matters. He has extensive experience acting for states, governments, and state-owned enterprises in complex, multi-jurisdictional projects under both civil and common law.


Background


Prior to joining RGD, Gleb worked at the London office of the D.C.-based international law firm Arnold & Porter, where he focused on high-profile and politically sensitive disputes between sovereigns and foreign investors, and public international law matters.

Gleb also has experience of legislative work and interned at the Russian Ministry of Justice.

Landmark engagement experience


  • Representing a CIS state in five multi-billion-dollar UNCITRAL arbitrations and parallel bankruptcy litigation in the Southern District of New York against a Western investor in connection with a dispute over one of the world’s largest gold mines.

  • Representing a Middle Eastern state in ICSID arbitration over seizure of foreign assets in connection with an attempted coup d’état and terrorism allegations.

  • Representing an Eastern European state in ICSID arbitration over regulatory measures in the energy sector.

  • Representing Gazprom Export – the world’s largest natural gas exporter – in arbitration against one of the seven oil & gas supermajors in relation to Russian gas supplies to Europe.

  • Representing a CIS government and state-owned enterprise in negotiations and complex deal for settlement of claims with a foreign investor under English, Canadian, and New York law.

  • Coordinating counsel team in one of the highest-value proceedings ever brought in the English courts - concerning a claim in excess of $10 billion and involving Russian state and private parties.

  • Representing a state-owned enterprise in high-value claim for damages under previous metals supply contract in the High Court of Justice of England and Wales, and its settlement.

  • Advising a state in respect of potential multi-billion-dollar disputes under production sharing agreements with one of the world’s largest oil companies.

  • Advising a state-owned enterprise in respect of sensitive international and foreign law issues to resist arrest of its property abroad.
