Background
Prior to joining RGD International Central Asia Shavkat worked at the law firm Ashina Law, held managerial positions in large companies in Uzbekistan such as the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, Agrover group of companies and the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and also worked as a chief lawyer in international companies such as POSCO Engineering & Construction Ltd (South Korea), Indorama Kokand Textile (Singapore), Uz-Kor Gas Chemical, UNDP legal projects in Uzbekistan, American Door & Window LLC (USA), participated in the development of the laws “On Arbitration Courts” and “On International Commercial Arbitration” and in the creation of arbitration courts at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Arbitration Development Center in Uzbekistan. Moreover, Shavkat has been involved in projects with over $6.0 billion in foreign direct investment from the UAE, UK, CIS, India, South Korea, Singapore, Switzerland, Denmark, China, USA and Germany.
