Vsevolod Taraskin

Vsevolod Taraskin is a counsel with RGD’s Dispute Resolution practice. Vsevolod has extensive experience in representing clients in international arbitration under UNCITRAL, ICSID AF, ICC, SCC, LCIA, ICAC rules as well as in cross-border and domestic litigation. His professional experience also includes a position as a legal advisor at LUKOIL oil company. Vsevolod is an author of articles on investment arbitration and the Russian arbitration procedure published in leading law periodicals.


Prior to joining RGD, Vsevolod worked as a senior associate with the Litigation & Arbitration practice of one of the largest Russian law firms. In 2019 performed successfully as a trainee at the London office of an American law firm, specialising on dispute resolution.

  • Representing Client in an international arbitration against a sovereign state under the ICSID AF Rules

  • Representing a Russian investor in a US$500 million dispute related to metallurgical asset expropriation in the territory of an Eastern European state

  • Representing the Russian Federation in a US$1 billion tax dispute arising out of a production sharing agreement

  • Representing a member of a consortium in a dispute out of performance of a contract in Chile under the SCC Rules

  • Representing a Russian manufacturer in a dispute arising out of a contract to supply equipment to Cuba in arbitration under the ICC Rules

  • Representing a Russian management company in commercial arbitration proceedings under the ICAC Rules in a dispute with a CIS state related to the recovery of damages from improper fulfilment of the terms of a sovereign guarantee, as well as in Russian litigation to enforce the ICAC award and overturn it, including before the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation

  • Representing a Russian construction company in an international arbitration under the ICC Rules in relation to construction of a large power facility abroad

  • Representing a large construction-engineering enterprise in an environmental dispute, including before the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, as a consequence of ship dumping in the Caspian Sea

  • Advising a Russian state-owned company in a dispute against its former employee with parallel proceedings underway in Guernsey, the British Virgin Islands and in Luxembourg, the overall amount in dispute being around €50 million

  • Representing a UAE investor in a dispute over JV with a Russian construction group in Russian courts and parallel LCIA arbitration
